Birthday Road Trip

For my birthday, Adam wanted to take me away. (So sweet!)  He originally suggested Costa Rica, but I wanted to go somewhere new.  Adam was dying to visit more of the states since he'd never been.  I offered we go on a road trip of SoCal & see how far north we could make it on a ten day trip.

First things, water the garden & coffee at our local coffee shop Java Earth Cafe.

We drove all the way up to Solvang, California our first night.

Which was founded by Danish and is a 'little Denmark' in Southern California.

It was already dark when we arrived and starting to rain, so the streets were deserted.  We ran around taking silly photos.

Posing with the wooden vikings!

I have no idea why Adam had me pose with this photo booth?

Soon it started down-pouring like crazy so we ran to dinner.

Thank goodness the only place open actually served classic Danish food!

Adam tasting Gammel Dansk and other Danish liquors.

We had to order an entire stereotypical Danish meal: cabbage, potatoes & meat.

Our hotel had a fireplace which was sooooo cozy with the rain.

Good night.
