For Christmas through NYE, we decided to go on a road trip through Vegas, Southern Utah and down through Phoenix. We left the day after Christmas and drove to Vegas in crazy traffic! Waze took us on some serious back roads on our way there; at one point we felt we were driving through a river bed next to the highway in a bad movie about drug running! :) We arrived after dark, exploring in the brightly lit darkness.
The next morning, I was in need of juice, greens and good coffee! Anytime I eat heavy food, especially during the holidays, I need a good detox after. :) Las Vegas is full of great juice bars. We went to 'Pressed for Juice' and ordered their juice shots to try all the flavors before we ordered. We sat a bit and read magazines; they had an amazing selection of luxury, car and art magazines. SurfaceMag was my favorite.
After juice, smoothies and coffee, we drove out to the desert to see the 'Seven Magic Mountains'. Beautiful, colorful, such contrasting art to the desert.
It's amazing to see people create in this manner. The art installation is free and permanent as far as I know. Very cool, very Insta worthy; only 30 minutes from Vegas.
After a day in the desert, we returned and explored a bit more of vegas. The Bellagio is a personal favorite: the opera singers in the canal, great shops and the sky painted ceilings.
